MPA Performance Week

All three Sparkman bands will perform at the annual Alabama Music Performance Assessment next week in the James Clemens High School Auditorium.  The performances are free to anyone that would like to attend.

Wind Ensemble – March 11, 2015

Student Information

Students will eat lunch early on Friday and will dress in tux/dress before we depart Sparkman High School.  All instruments and equipment will be put on the school bus and the following percussion equipment will be provided by James Clemens High School:

  • Bass Drum
  • Timpani
  • Vibraphone
  • Marimba
  • Xylophone
  • Glockenspiel
  • Large and small Gong

Percussion instruments needed for the sight reading room:

  • Timpani
  • Bells
  • Snare Drum
  • Bass Drum
  • Crash Cymbals

Bus Seating

Bus 1 – Woodwinds
Bus 2 – Brass & Percussion

Wednesday’s Schedule

  • 11:50 a.m. – Percussion join winds for final rehearsal
  • 1:05 p.m. – Eat Lunch
  • 1:30 p.m. – Dress into uniforms (Chaperone’s Arrive)
  • 2:00 p.m. – Travel to James Clemens High School
  • 2:45 p.m. – Watch other bands perform
  • 4:05 p.m. – Warmup
  • 4:35 p.m. – Performance
  • 5:45 p.m. – Arrive at Sparkman High School

 

9th Grade Band – March 12, 2015

Student Information

The following percussion equipment will be supplied by James Clemens:

Thursday’s Schedule

  • 1:30 p.m. – Released from 4th block, dress into uniforms
  • 2:00 p.m. – Travel to James Clemens High School
  • 3:15 p.m. – Warmup
  • 3:45 p.m. – Performance
  • 5:15 p.m. – Arrive at Sparkman HS

 

Concert Band – March 13, 2015

Student Information

Concert band percussion students have been excused to rehearse with the wind during 3rd block on Friday, March 13.  All students will eat 5th lunch.  Percussion equipment, tubas, bari sax, and bass clarinets will go on the truck.  All other instruments will go on the bus.

  • 4 timpani

  • Timpani (provided)

Friday’s Schedule

  • Winds and percussion rehearse during 3rd block.
  • 1:05 Students eat 4th lunch
  • 1:30 p.m. – Dress into uniforms/load truck/chaperones arrive
  • 2:00 p.m. – Travel to James Clemens High School
  • 2:30 p.m. – Arrive at JCHS and watch bands in the auditorium
  • 5:00 p.m. – Warmup
  • 5:30 p.m. – Perform
  • 6:00 p.m. – Sight Reading
  • 6:40 p.m. – Depart for Sparkman HS
  • 7:05 p.m. – Arrive at Sparkman HS
