The mission of the Sparkman High School Band is to foster character development in students using music through performance as the tool to build honorable and productive citizens. Whether on the marching field, in the concert hall, or in specialty groups such as Sparkman Indoor Percussion, Winter Guard, and Jazz Band, the students, directors, and staff of the Sparkman High School Band show their talent, dedication, and character. Proceeds from fundraisers fund music, supplies, equipment, instrument maintenance, and many, many other essential needs for a successful program.
A Championship Program
- Highest Grand Nationals placement of any Alabama band in state history at the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championships in Indianapolis
- 2× WGI World Champion Sparkman Indoor Percussion, the only Alabama ensemble competing at the Scholastic World Class level
- 2024 Alabama 7A State Champions
- 249 students, the largest student organization in Madison County
Our students compete across the country every season. Keeping a program of this size and caliber on the field, on the road, and in tune takes support beyond what the school budget provides. Our most pressing need this year is the repair and replacement of band instruments.
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and are held in an account monitored and administered by the SHS Band Boosters and Sparkman High School.
Sparkman High School Band conducts fundraisers each year including a Mattress Sale, Spirit Nights, and others that we announce throughout the year.
Sparkman is also aggressively seeking new corporate sponsorships to take our program to the NEXT LEVEL! Sponsorship is available through two programs: Community Sponsorship for individuals, families, and local businesses, and Corporate Sponsorship for companies seeking brand visibility with a championship program.
