The Sparkman Bands will perform at their annual State Music Performance Assessment on March 10-11, 2016 in the James Clemens High School Auditorium. The purpose of this event is to be evaluated by state approved adjudicators; however, everyone is welcome to attend. Please read and familiarize yourself with the schedule and instructions below.
Instructions for all
Uniforms
All students will dress into uniform at the call time for their band before leaving Sparkman HS. Concert attire for each band will be the same as the Pre-MPA event.
Checkouts
Students may be checked out by their parent or legal guardian after their performance is complete. All checkout procedures from the fall semester apply.
Equipment
On Thursday, all large winds and percussion instruments will be placed on an equipment truck. Instruments will remain on the equipment truck until the band is ready to perform.
On Friday, all wind instruments will be carried on the bus with students. All percussion equipment will be transported on bus #2.
Buses
The buses will drop off students, run their daily routes and then return to James Clemens to pick up band students; therefore, no personal items or equipment should be left on the bus.
Each band will have two buses. Although the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will leave at the same time on Thursday, students will not mix between the two buses. The first two buses will be concert band and the second two buses will be Wind Ensemble.

- 11:30 a.m. – Eat 1st Lunch
- 1:30 p.m. – Get dressed into uniform
- 2:15 p.m. – Depart Sparkman HS
- 2:45 p.m. – Arrive at James Clemens
- 4:15 p.m. – Performance Time
- 5:15 p.m. – Finished. Depart James Clemens HS
- 5:45 p.m. – ETA at Sparkman HS
Wind Ensemble – Thursday March 10, 2016

- 12:00 p.m. – Call Time (Get dressed into uniform)
- 12:45 p.m. – Depart Sparkman HS
- 1:15 p.m. – Arrive at James Clemens
- 2:15 p.m. – Performance Time
- 3:00 p.m. – Finished. Students may be checked out by their parent legal guardian. The remainder of students will watch other bands perform until the buses are available for pickup.
