This week is Homecoming week against Huntsville and the Competition Band will travel to Middle Tennessee State University for the Contest of Champions. In addition the band will host the first ever “Alumni Band” event. The “Pregame Performance” will consist of the Marching Band Show followed by the Alumni Band joining the band. The band will assist with the Homecoming Court during halftime and the Competition Band will perform for a post game performance.
Congratulations
We would like to congratulate the Competition Band for their results this past Saturday at the Bands of America Regional in Jacksonville. On Saturday the band attended their first competition in two years and competed against some of the best bands from South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. The result was Sparkman was the only Alabama band that made finals and placed in 9th place overall. We are proud of the hard work the students, staff and parents put in to making the weekend a success and a great start to our competition season.

Alumni Band
For the first time the band will host an Alumni Band for all former students of the Sparkman High School Band. All alumni are invited to come and participate in a pregame performance and stay for the remainder of the game. There will be an optional rehearsal for the alumni on Thursday, October 21st, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in the High School Band Room.

MTSU Contest of Champions
On Saturday the band participate in the 58th Annual Contest of Champions located at Middle Tennessee State University located in Murfreesboro. This competition will utilize a Prelim/Final format and our first performance will take place at 4pm.
Tickets
- MTSU does NOT provide complementary tickets. This means everyone that goes into the stadium (except for the performers) must have a ticket.
