Week seven will be another busy week for the Sparkman Band. The band will have a long journey to Hewitt-Trussville on Friday night and the competition band will compete for the first time this year at Albertville High School on Saturday.
Due to ever changing weather and field conditions we are still having to alter our schedule. Thursday’s rehearsal has been changed to a Competition Band Rehearsal. NOTE: The school system can only obtain 5 school buses to leave in time to attend this event; therefore, only Competition Band and official prop crew will attend this game.
This Week’s Schedule:
- Monday: 3:30 to 4:30pm – Competition Band Rehearsal
- Tuesday: 3:30 to 5:00pm – Competition Band Rehearsal
- Wednesday – Guard Rehearsal, Percussion Rehearsal after school until 4:30
- Thursday: 3:30 to 5:00pm – Competition Band Rehearsal
- Friday:
- 2:30pm – Travel to Hewitt-Trussville (Map)
- 5:00pm – Arrive at HTHS and eat concessions
- 7:00pm – Game Time
- 1:00am – ETA arrival at SHS
- Saturday:
- 11:00am – Percussion Rehearsal Begins
- 11:30am – Full Competition Band Rehearsal
- 12:45pm – Load Equipment Truck
- 3:00pm – Call Time
- 3:15pm – Travel to Albertville HS (Map)
- 5:00pm – Arrive at Albertville HS
- 6:00pm – Warmup A
- 6:50pm – Staging
- 7:00pm – Performance

Friday Details
Uniforms
Students will carry shako boxes and uniform bags to the competition. If students are not wearing their uniform they should be hanging properly in the bus. Students should not eat or drink (except water) while wearing their jackets.
Food
At this time we are planning on arriving early and eating concessions before the game. Students should bring money for food. Students should never eat in their uniforms so they will get dressed after eating. An online form will be sent out later for students to request what they would like to eat from their concession stand.

Saturday Details

Students should make arrangements to eat before we depart at 3:15pm. The next opportunity students will have to eat will be after the performance at 7pm.

Spectator Information
Spectator parking is $5. Only band director vehicles will be allowed to park with their band buses. Handicap parking is available at the stadium directly behind the press box. Spectators will be allowed in and out parking throughout the day based on availability of spaces.
The general admission for the festival is $7. Band students, chaperones with wristbands, and directors will be admitted free.
Seating
The following charts shows where the band will be sitting for the awards ceremonies. Spectating students are not required to sit here during the performances of other bands.
