Katie Manker currently serves as the assistant director of bands at Sparkman High School. She earned both her bachelor and master degrees in music education at Troy University. While earning her master degree, Ms. Manker served as the administrative graduate assistant for the band, and was an assistant director of the Concert Band.
While at Troy, Ms. Manker performed with the Jazz Ensemble and Symphony Band on saxophone. She was an active member of Tau Beta Sigma, an honorary band sorority, during her undergraduate degree. Since graduating, she has been an active member of the National Association for Music Education, the Alabama Bandmasters Association, and the Florida Bandmasters Association.
Ms. Manker began teaching in 2020, and joined the Sparkman team in 2022.
