The 2021 Alabama Bandmasters Association District One Honor Band will be hosted at Sparkman High School this year. We would like to welcome all the Honor Band members to our campus and hope you have a wonderful experience. Below you will find important information that will help you participate in this year’s event.
UPDATE: Sparkman High School will host the State Baseball, Softball AND Soccer tournaments this weekend. The campus will be very crowded. ALL STUDENTS SHOULD ENTER THE CAMPUS FROM JEFF RD AND DROP-OFF IN FRONT OF THE AUDITORIUM ENTRANCE. Once inside, students will be directed to the band room. Please see the map at the bottom of this page.

Sparkman Campus Policies
The Madison County Board of Education requires all students and adults to wear a mask inside the school building/auditorium at all times. The occupancy of the auditorium is limited and attendees must sit in assigned ticket seating. (See Ticket Orders)
Ticket Orders
Each performing student will be allowed to reserve two tickets for their parents to attend the concert. Each ticket will have a reserved seat the attendee must occupy during the concert. When arriving for the concert, attendees should present either a printout of the ticket or ticket information on their digital device.

Friday, April 30
- 5:30pm: Seating of the Band (Sparkman HS Band Room)
- 5:45pm – 9:00pm: Rehearsal
Saturday, May 1
- 8:30am – 11:30am: Rehearsal (Sparkman HS Auditorium)
- Lunch (On Your Own)
- 1:00pm – 4:00pm: Rehearsal
- Dinner (On Your Own) and Dress for Concert
- 6:30pm: Assemble on Stage for Warmups
- 7:00pm: Concert
Student Reminders
- Attendance at all rehearsals is mandatory. Absence from a rehearsal could result in removal from the honor band.
- Students should wear their school’s concert uniform for the Saturday evening performance.
- Students should not have cell phones/digital devices out during rehearsals.
- Risk Mitigation – We will wear masks when not playing/performing. Wear masks during breaks. Students must bring a bell cover for your instrument (Not applicable for flutes or percussion)
- We will have reserved, socially distanced Concert Seating – Two tickets maximum per student, first come – first served. A link will be provided to reserve your seating.
- Pep Wear will sell honor band shirts and plaques. We will send out the website and information closer to Honor Band, along with the seating information.
- Concert recordings will be available for purchase.
Parking/Drop-offs
Students should enter the campus from Jeff Road and follow the green arrows to drop students off at the entrance of the auditorium.
