F3 Day is one of the most important parts of the band’s preparation for the next school year. The three “F’s” refer to Forms, Fees, and Fittings. Completing this process insures the participation of the student by both parents and band staff.
Our F3 Day for grades 10-12 is coming up this weekend, Saturday June 13. Freshmen will have their F3 Day on June 20th at 9:00 a.m. (June 20th will also be a make-up day for upperclassmen who did not attend F3 Day on June 13th.)
Logistics
This year, F3 Day will be a little different as we adapt to our possibly new normal of social distancing. F3 Day this year will take place as a drive through service and we are asking for you to remain in your car. As we finalize this process, you will receive further instructions in the coming days. We will need a few parents to help on F3 Day. If you can come out and help, please consider doing that. A signup will be sent out soon.
Schedule
Please make sure you arrive at your scheduled time. If you have kids in different grades, they can all come at the same time!
June 13, 2020
9am – 10am: Seniors
10am – 11am: Juniors
11am-12pm: Sophomores
Forms
We are asking everyone to please print off the required forms in advance and have them completed prior to arriving. If you are unable to print off the forms, we will have copies available. As always, having these forms completed before arriving will speed things up for you. We will have a notary available to notarize forms. Please make sure you completely fill out the medical forms, including the date of your child’s last tetanus shot. THIS APPROXIMATE DATE IS VERY IMPORTANT! We cannot accept forms that are partially filled out.

Uniform Fitting
CLICK HERE for a Measurement Form to PRINT and COMPLETE at home before F3 Day. You CAN NOT take your own measurements. Ask a parent/guardian or mature sibling for assistance. This data will be very important to a professional fit and comfort for your band uniform.
Returning band students, WEAR your BIBBERS and BAND SHOES to have your hem and fit checked on F3 Day. You must wear your compression shorts under your bibbers as athletic shorts, jeans, or pants add bulk and will distort how your bibbers fit.
New band students, you MAY wear hand me down Sparkman bibbers (ie. overalls, jumpsuit) and shoes if available to you. Make plans to buy your own black compression shorts by the time school is in session as you will wear these under your bibbers.
A representative from Gadsden Music will be with us to assist with shoe and glove fitting. Parents, please bring check or cash to pay Gadsden Music separately. Band shoes are $35. Gloves are $5 per pair. It is recommended students own 2 pair of gloves. Some students prefer to get new gloves for each season. Students, please discuss with your parent/guardian before F3 Day to expedite the process with Gadsden Music.
Due to the late start this season and COVID 19 adjustments your accurate measurements are VITAL to my having correct sizes assigned to you for a timely assignment and ordering of your band uniform components. You can watch a video by the Band Shoppe at https://youtu.be/ZUO1HNrOVuU which gives a very good overview of how to take uniform measurements. The attached form also has simple instructions and FAQs.
Fees
The fee schedule for this coming year is attached – Guard and Percussion are outlined as well. This year, we have restructured the fees due to COVID, so they will look a little different. At this time, it is uncertain if we will be participating in any competitions, therefore, the competition band fee has been lowered. If we are able to attend a competition, we will address that issue as it presents itself.
Please remember that your family’s booster account must be caught up before we can accept any payments for the 2020-21 school year. If you have any outstanding fees such as instrument rentals for this semester, Winter Guard fees, SIP fees, or 19-20 Marching Band fees that have not been paid, please be prepared to pay those on F3 Day, in addition to the 2020-21 fees. You can check your account through Charms. Let me know if you have trouble logging in. Fees can be paid by cash or check (with phone number) to one of the treasurers OR you can use MySchoolFees by CLICKING HERE.
