This week the Competition Band will attend their first marching competition of the year at the Tennessee Valley Invitational Marching Competition and travel to Gadsden High School for the Friday night football game.
Note: On Tuesday night we were informed that the school would not be able to provide the band with 8 school buses that can make it to the game on time due to a shortage of bus drivers and running their daily routes. We asked for as many buses as possible and they were able to provide 5 buses. After no luck with searching for alternative solutions for travel we determined that only taking the competition band to the game was the best solution. We regret the Marching Band students will not be able to attend due to lack of transportation.
Friday Night Game
Food: Students attending the game will need to bring money for dinner. The band will travel to the Gadsden Mall and eat supper before we go to the stadium.
Uniforms: Students will not get dressed before they leave the school; therefore, students are responsible for putting their uniform and shako box on the bus. The uniform should remain in a hanging position and should never be placed on the floor of the bus.
Students will get dressed into uniform after they eat at the mall. Students should wear clothes that will allow them to put the uniform on while they are on the bus.
Saturday Competition
Students will get dressed into uniform upon their arrival at Muscle Shoals HS. They should wear clothes that will allow them to get dressed into uniform quickly upon their arrival. The band will NOT stop to eat during transit to MSHS; therefore, students should make food arrangements between the afternoon rehearsal and departure time.

Thursday
- 3:30pm – 6:00pm: Competition Band Rehearsal
- 6:00pm: Load the equipment truck (except guard)
Friday
- 1:45pm: Guard students released from class.
- 2:03pm: All students will prepare and load school buses.
- 2:30pm: Depart Sparkman High School (click for driving directions)
- 4:30pm: Arrive at Gadsden Mall
- 5:30pm: Depart Gadsden Mall (click for driving directions)
- 7:00pm: Game Time
- Midnight: ETA at Sparkman High School
Saturday
- 10:00am – 12:00pm: Guard and Percussion Sectional
- 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Percussion Rehearsal at stadium.
- 2:00pm – 4:00pm: Full Competition Band Rehearsal (Stadium Field)
- 5:30pm: Call Time
- 6:00pm: Depart for Muscle Shoals High School (click for driving directions)
- 8:15pm: Warmup
- 9:00pm: Sparkman Performance
- 9:45pm: Awards Ceremonies
- 10:45pm: Travel to Sparkman
- Midnight: ETA at Sparkman High School
