Friday – Home Game against James Clemens
The Band article from Mr. Raney is available with information about this week’s schedule. https://sparkmanband.com/week-8-first-competition/
Many volunteers are needed for this game. Please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c4caeac2cabfa7-oct18shs
if you can spend any time helping the band.
Also note a new volunteer position has been created for ‘Band Escort-Halftime’.
With the current ‘in-progress’ status of the football field, we have found that students are having difficulty making their way through the crowds when moving from the stands to the field and then again from the field to the stands.
We are looking for 2-4 parents to assist with clearing a path and keeping our band members together. You will only be needed near the end of the second quarter and after halftime.
Students who plan to eat at the concession stand prior to call time should complete this form: https://forms.gle/fGiJ7pHQxX1rrwFZ8
This will help to plan for students arriving at concessions before the game.
Tennessee Valley Marching Invitational – Muscle Shoals, AL – Saturday, Oct. 19
Our first competition is this Saturday!
Volunteers are needed for uniform help (before and after), pit crew, and chaperones. Please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0C4CAEAC2CABFA7-october10
We also need snacks for the bus ride home after competition! Please consider bringing 12oz Gatorade bottles and salty snacks (no peanuts or peanut butter) to school on Thursday after practice (dropoff at S9) or Friday (before or after the game) (dropoff at the HS Band Room).
We will be taking one bus for marching band students to watch the competition. A sign up will be sent soon – first come, first serve.
Booster Meeting – Tuesday, October 15
The Booster Meeting will be Tuesday, October 15 at 6:00 pm in the High School Library. This meeting is MANDATORY for everyone attending the BOA-Atlanta competition as part of the band trip (all competition and alternate students, all bus riders, all pit crew and chaperone adults).
Parents are encouraged to attend to hear information about the trip.
Prop Help Needed
We have nine backdrops to finish (10’x10′) with some special features. It’s going to be trial and error until we get it working for the greatest effect.
Come join us at the Practice field shed on Wednesday, October 16 from 3pm until 9pm(ish). Contact Deniece Moody ([email protected]) for more information.

Fruit Sales are ongoing!
Remember, unlike other fundraisers, the profit from these sales goes directly into each individual student’s account – lowering your fees for next year (or this spring)!
