The Sparkman Bands will perform at their annual State Music Performance Assessment on March 1-2, 2017 in the James Clemens High School Auditorium. The purpose of this event is to be evaluated by state approved adjudicators; however, everyone is welcome to attend. Please read and familiarize yourself with the schedule and instructions below.
Instructions for all
Uniforms
All students will dress into uniform at the call time for their band before leaving Sparkman HS. Concert attire for each band will be the same as the Pre-MPA event.
Checkouts
Students may be checked out by their parent or legal guardian after their performance is complete. All checkout procedures from the fall semester apply.
Equipment
All wind instruments will be carried on the bus with students. All percussion equipment will be transported on the last bus of each group.
Buses
The buses will drop off students, run their daily routes and then return to James Clemens to pick up band students; therefore, no personal items or equipment should be left on the bus.
Although the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will leave at the same time on Thursday, students will not mix between the two buses. The first three buses will be concert band and the next two buses will be Wind Ensemble.

- Students will eat 5th lunch and report back to the band room.
- 3:00 p.m. – Depart Sparkman HS
- 3:45 p.m. – Arrive at Austin High School
- 4:55 p.m. – Performance Time
- 5:40 p.m. – Finished. Students may be checked out by their parent legal guardian.
- 6:45 p.m.* – ETA at Sparkman HS

- 6:25 p.m. – Finished. Depart James Clemens HS (stay for WE performance)
