David Raney currently serves as the director of bands at Sparkman High School. He earned his Music Education Degree from the University of North Alabama and started teaching in 1998. He accepted the director of bands position at Sparkman High School in the fall of 2010.
As a member of the Alabama Bandmasters Association, Mr. Raney has served as the ABA District 1 Chairman and a member of the ABA Music Selection Committee. In 2015 Mr. Raney was inducted into the Alabama Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity and was awarded the Rho Chapter Outstanding Bandmaster Award in 2016.
Mr. Raney has served as a guest conductor at several honor bands and adjudicated various marching competitions across the southeast. He continues to play his trombone in numerous ensembles throughout North Alabama. He has two children, Allison and Ashley, and is married to Regina Raney who is the director of bands at Cedar Ridge Middle School.
Robbie Stout currently serves as the assistant director of bands at Sparkman High School. He earned his Music Education Degree from the University of North Alabama and started teaching in 2002. He accepted the assistant director position at Sparkman in 2016.
Mr. Stout is an active member of the National Association for Music Education, National Bandmasters Association, and the Alabama Bandmasters Association. Along with teaching, Mr. Stout enjoys his time as a professional trumpet player. He also performs in various ensembles such as the Shoals Big Band, Orchestra Sul Ponticello, and the Redstone Brass Choir.
Mr. Stout and his wife Gina currently reside in Priceville, Alabama with their son Colby.
Jack Albert currently serves as director of percussion at Sparkman High School in Harvest,
Alabama. Jack’s duties at Sparkman include co-directing the Sparkman High School Marching Senators, directing the Sparkman Indoor Percussion Ensemble, and teaching 6-8 grade percussion at Monrovia and Sparkman Middle Schools. These high achieving groups perform in the WGI and BOA arenas, as well as state and national concert band festivals. Mr. Albert is a graduate of the University of North Alabama (B.S. in Music Education) where he served as percussion section leader and principal percussionist. He is also an alumnus of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps where he was a member of the snare line. In addition to teaching, Mr. Albert is a highly sought after band and percussion arranger/designer, and serves as a staff arranger for the University of North Alabama Band Program and percussion arranger for Southwind and Western Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Albert currently resides in Priceville, Alabama with his wife Allison, and son Sawyer.
